Overcast skies today, with a light W breeze with the barometer flat. On Lue Lake, work bays that hold the day's warmth first. Little to get excited about, though the night holds a sliver of promise. Lower the pace and stay patient. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Look for Lue Lake in the Sudbury part of Ontario. The bank is 385 metres above sea level. It measures about 15 hectares, which is a comfortable size for bank fishing. The whole outline is near 1.5 km, and most of it is walkable. Our Sudbury list holds plenty of bigger water. For a base, Capreol sits 55 km out. For a city, Greater Sudbury is 75 km off. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
Depth figures are not published for this one. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Open biodiversity records for Sudbury list smallmouth bass, northern pike and yellow perch. Species recorded across the county may be limited to a few waters. Treat Lue Lake as a water to read rather than to cover.
Temperature averages peak at 17°C in July and bottom out at -16°C in January. The year runs cold to warm and back, with clear transitions. Hard water holds through the cold months, breaking up near late April. On average, late April opens the water and late November closes it again. Late spring and early autumn carry the year between them. Plan around that when you fish Lue Lake.
The paperwork position is blank for this one. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Public mapping records no formal access here, so plan for a walk and soft ground. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Parking is often the real limit rather than the bank itself. Keep proof of licence with you rather than in the car. If the gate is shut, Thor Lake at 0.6 km is the nearest alternative. For Lue Lake in particular, ask before you travel.
