No cloud to trap the day's warmth tonight, with flat calm through the day with the glass holding level. The productive water at Lower Basin A will be around windblown banks where food collects. The strongest window runs from the day. Keep expectations modest and fish carefully. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Night
Lower Basin A falls in Rainy River District, part of Ontario. This is lake country bush ground. Roughly 50 hectares: a morning covers one end, an afternoon the other. Atikokan at 8.5 km is the nearest place to stop. Thunder Bay is the closest city, 177 km away. Neighbouring water: Air Hole Lake just 0.7 km, Generator Lake roughly 1.3 km, Magneto Lake just 1.6 km, Snow Lake roughly 2.1 km and Ski Lake just 2.1 km. The nearest edge is a long way off, so local rules apply throughout.
Depth here is unknown, so count the lead down before committing. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Fish documented in Rainy River District include northern pike, smallmouth bass, yellow perch and walleye. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. On Lower Basin A the obvious spot is not always the productive one.
July runs about 18°C on average, January about -17°C. Winter closes the water for a while, and the reopening is worth catching. After late April the shallows warm and the fish move up. Climate figures give an open season running late April to mid November. The strongest runs come at either end of the open season. That is the shape of the year on Lower Basin A.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. Access is unmapped, which usually means a farm track and a walk. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Check whether a boat is allowed before you tow one. Barbless rules turn up on managed water more often than not. Air Hole Lake, 0.7 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Nothing on Lower Basin A should be assumed from this page alone.
