Wet weather working through today, with a soft NW wind and no real change in pressure. Activity on Lloyd Lake should centre on shallow cover and weed edges. The numbers single out the middle of the day. Settle in and let the day develop. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Look for Lloyd Lake in the Thunder Bay District part of Ontario. The ground round it is spruce and muskeg. It measures about 63 hectares, which is a comfortable size for bank fishing. Shoreline comes to about 3.7 km, small enough to learn in a day. Nipigon sits 7.2 km from the bank. Further out sit Schreiber (72 km) and Amethyst Harbour (76 km). It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
There is no published depth for this one, so start shallow and work out. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Survey and observation records for Thunder Bay District include cisco, blackfin cisco and rainbow smelt. What holds for the county may not hold for this water. Lloyd Lake fishes better once you know its edges.
Climate records put July near 17°C and January near -17°C. Open water is the exception rather than the rule here. The lid usually sets by midwinter and gives way around late April. Going by climate averages, expect open water from about late April until roughly mid November. The open run goes from the thaw to the freeze, and April through October covers most of it. Plan around that when you fish Lloyd Lake.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. No made access is recorded, so a short walk in is the likely arrangement. One rod, a handful of hooks and floats, and a few small lures are enough for this water. Rules for this water may differ from the county norm. Where the way in crosses private ground, ask first. Failing this one, try Carlotta Lake, 1.9 km away.
