Flat light and a covered sky today, with a useful W wind pushing food about with the glass holding level. Activity on Link Lake should centre on the margins and the shelf beyond them. Little to get excited about, though the middle of the day holds a sliver of promise. Downsize everything and pick the calmest water.

In Ontario, Link Lake belongs to Timiskaming District. It stands 313 metres above sea level. The water measures roughly 4 hectares, so nothing here is far from anything else. Our Timiskaming District list holds plenty of bigger water. Rouyn-Noranda at 38 km is the nearest place to stop. Greater Sudbury is the closest city, 219 km away. It sits near the edge of the county, so check which rules apply.
No depth figure appears in our records, so the bank has to tell you. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Timiskaming District records list brook trout, northern pike, yellow perch, Iowa darter and walleye among the fish reported. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. Link Lake gives up more to patience than to distance.
The seasonal spread runs -17°C to 17°C. Fishing here follows the temperature more than the calendar. Break-up comes around early May, and the run that follows is short and strong. Expect the water usable from around early May until roughly mid November. Just after the ice goes and just before it returns, the fishing lifts. Keep it in mind when planning a trip to Link Lake.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. We find no slipway, car park or made path within a short radius, so treat access as rough. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Season dates differ by species, so read the table. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. If the gate is shut, Rodensere Lake at 0.4 km is the nearest alternative. Confirm before you fish Link Lake.
