A windy day on the water, with enough SE wind to stack food downwind with the glass holding level. Give the weed line and any gaps in it the first hour at Lakelet Lake. The day runs flat but workable from start to finish. Take the steady approach over the searching one. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Huron County in Ontario is where Lakelet Lake sits. It lies 367 metres above sea level. Roughly 28 hectares: a morning covers one end, an afternoon the other. At about 5.3 km of edge, most people work one arm at a time. It is the biggest water on our Huron County list. Mildmay sits 11 km from here and is the nearest stop. Then Harriston, 16 km, and Walkerton, 21 km. The line between counties passes nearby, which can change who manages the water.
The records we hold are silent on depth, so plan to find it yourself. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Records held for Huron County cover rainbow darter, fantail darter and blackside darter. Records at this level tell you what is in the area. On Lakelet Lake the first feature you find is usually worth a session.
The warm month here averages 19°C; the cold one sits at -8°C. Seasons are distinct, and each one fishes differently. The lid usually goes in mid April, which opens the strongest weeks of the year. The water is typically free of ice between mid April and mid December. From the thaw to midsummer the fishing improves week by week. Expect Lakelet Lake to follow that timing.
No access rule appears in what we hold. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Nothing built is recorded close to the bank here. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Bank access can be seasonal on ground like this. Some water is controlled locally without a sign saying so. Blind Lake, 1.3 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Rules at Lakelet Lake are worth checking on the day.
