Uneven cloud over the water after dark, with a soft SW wind and pressure going nowhere. Most of the action on Lake Aquitaine should come off the first drop-off and weed lines. The best of it runs the day. Push the good hours hard and rest through the dead ones. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

You will find Lake Aquitaine in Peel, Ontario. Height above sea level is 195 metres. It covers about 4 hectares, so this is small water you can walk round in under an hour. It lies lower than most water we list in Ontario. Some 7.7 km away sits Mississauga, the nearest settlement. Then Brampton, 11 km, and Milton, 13 km. The boundary is close enough to be worth checking before you fish.
Depth is not on record here, so the bank has to tell you. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Open biodiversity records for Peel list rainbow darter, fantail darter and brook trout. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. Lake Aquitaine fishes better once you know its edges.
Climate records put July near 21°C and January near -6°C. Four clear seasons, with a proper winter at one end. Hard water holds through the cold months, breaking up near early April. The water is typically free of ice between early April and mid December. Just after the ice goes and just before it returns, the fishing lifts. It sets the rhythm of the year at Lake Aquitaine.
Our records carry no access rule either way. Records list it as a fishing water. Parking is mapped about 150 m from the bank. There is a mapped landing stage 140 m away. Facilities run to toilets 170 m from the water. Light line and small metal for the trout; a fly rod earns its place on calm evenings. A landowner's word beats anything printed elsewhere. Signs go up and come down, so check on the day. Lake Wabukayne sits 1.4 km off and takes the overflow. Treat access at Lake Aquitaine as something to verify.
