Sun coming and going behind the cloud today, with enough SW wind to stack food downwind and pressure sitting still. Expect most activity at Godda Lake around bays that hold the day's warmth. Expectations low today; if anything moves, it will be in the night. Lower the pace and stay patient.

The Nipissing District end of Ontario holds Godda Lake. The ground around here is pine and birch. Surface area is around 57 hectares, which gives you real water without needing a boat. With about 4.7 km of edge, you can try several depths in one session. Haliburton Village is 68 km away, with Bancroft at 71 km. Rules here are straightforward: one set of provincial rules.
Depth remains unrecorded, so treat the first session as a survey. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. Nipissing District records list smallmouth bass, cisco, yellow perch, pumpkinseed and rock bass among the fish reported. Take it as the county picture rather than a promise for this water. Godda Lake fishes better once you know its edges.
Averages here run 18°C at the top of summer and -13°C at the bottom of winter. Fishing here follows the temperature more than the calendar. The open season starts with the thaw, near enough late April. The lid tends to go about late April and return around late November. The first weeks of open water and the last are the ones to plan for. That is the shape of the year on Godda Lake.
The access position is unclear from public sources. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. You can camp about 240 m away, going by the mapping. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Where access is informal, keep it that way by behaving. A polite question at the farm gate opens more banks than anything else. If the gate is shut, Mole Lake at 1.2 km is the nearest alternative. None of that is settled for Godda Lake in what we hold.
