A sharp, clear morning turning into a bright day, with a steady W wind and pressure sitting still. Whatever swims in Glacier Lake should be near structure within a cast of the bank. A stay-home graph, with the morning as the one excuse to go. Quiet tactics only; the fish will not chase today.

Look for Glacier Lake in Nipissing District, Ontario. It sits at 405 metres above sea level. With some 11 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. Roughly 1.8 km of bank means you can walk to a fresh area when one goes quiet. 34 km away sits Mattawa, the nearest town. Powassan lies 60 km off, Callander another 64 km. One jurisdiction covers this water end to end.
No figure exists for depth, so let the water show you. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Across Nipissing District, recorded fish include smallmouth bass, cisco and yellow perch. Records at county level tell you what is around, not what is stocked here. On Glacier Lake that means starting tight and working out.
In an average year July sits at 18°C and January at -13°C. Spring and autumn carry the fishing; summer and winter test it. Ice-out usually falls in late April, and the weeks after it fish hardest. Ice usually gives way near late April, and forms again about late November. September and October fish steadily right up to the freeze. It holds true on Glacier Lake more years than not.
Nothing we hold confirms whether access is permitted. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. There is camping recorded roughly 1.1 km off. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Look for a notice board at the entrance. Some ground is open by custom rather than by right, so tread carefully. Should this one be busy, Gull Lake is 1 km off. Check the position on Glacier Lake before loading the car.
