An unsettled, stormy sky today, with a firm SSW blow with the glass holding level. Give the weed line and any gaps in it the first hour at Fraser Lake. A hard day on paper; the night edges the rest. Scale down and fish slowly. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

Frontenac County in Ontario is where Fraser Lake sits. It lies 227 metres above sea level. Surface area runs to about 2 hectares — small enough to read in one session. It is a small entry by Frontenac County standards. For supplies, Sharbot Lake is 22 km out. Kingston sits 58 km out, and it is the nearest city worth the name. A county boundary sits nearby, which can matter for local access rules.
Nothing we hold settles how deep this runs. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Fish documented in Frontenac County include pumpkinseed, bluegill, rock bass and smallmouth bass. Species recorded across the county may be limited to a few waters. Anyone new to Fraser Lake should walk it once before setting up.
In an average year July sits at 20°C and January at -10°C. Fishing here follows the temperature more than the calendar. Hard cover is dependable here; it goes around mid April. Going by climate averages, expect open water from about mid April until roughly early December. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. Fraser Lake runs to its own calendar within the local pattern.
Nothing we hold confirms whether access is permitted. There is no mapped parking or launch nearby, which keeps numbers down. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. For a change of water, Puddle Lake is 0.8 km distant. Ask locally about Fraser Lake if anything is unclear.
