Cloud from horizon to horizon today, with a busy SE wind on the open water and no real change in pressure. Most of the action on Fairy Lake should come off the seam between weed and open water. The day peaks in the evening. Push the good hours hard and rest through the dead ones. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Fairy Lake is one of the District Municipality of Muskoka waters in Ontario. The water sits 181 metres up. Roughly 2.7 km of bank means you can walk to a fresh area when one goes quiet. It is low-lying compared with other Ontario water we list. The nearest place of any size is Penetanguishene, 13 km away. Barrie sits 57 km out, and it is the nearest city worth the name. The boundary is near enough that local access rules are worth double-checking.
Our records carry no depth, so judge it from the bank. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Survey and observation records for District Municipality of Muskoka include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, northern pike and yellow perch. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. At Fairy Lake the water rewards a slow, careful approach.
The range across the year is -8°C to 20°C. Spring and autumn carry the fishing; summer and winter test it. The open season starts with the thaw, near enough mid April. From about mid April to around mid December, expect open water on the long-run figures. Late spring and early autumn carry the year between them. At Fairy Lake the season follows that pattern closely.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. A platform or pier sits within 320 m. A campsite lies 290 m away for anyone staying over. Somewhere to sit and eat is 310 m out. There are toilets 320 m off. Check whether a boat is allowed before you tow one. Night access is frequently treated as a separate matter. Goblin Lake sits 0.5 km off and takes the overflow. Where Fairy Lake is concerned, a local answer beats a written one.
