A still, cloudless night on the water, with an easy breeze from the WNW and steady pressure. On Crosman Lake, work inflow corners and shaded margins first. If you must go, go in the morning. Treat it as a scouting trip with a rod in hand. Fish follow the bait in autumn, so find one to find the other.

Ontario holds Crosman Lake, in Thunder Bay District. It stands 389 metres above sea level. It measures about 36 hectares, which is a comfortable size for bank fishing. The outline measures near 5.9 km, so local knowledge counts. For supplies, Schreiber is 17 km out. Thunder Bay is the closest city, 162 km away. No border sits close enough to matter.
Depth is unmeasured here, so let the shoreline guide you. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Open biodiversity records for Thunder Bay District list cisco, blackfin cisco, rainbow smelt and bloater. Species recorded across the county may be limited to a few waters. Work Crosman Lake in sections rather than trying to cover it.
Climate normals give 16°C for July and -17°C for January. This is a two-season water: locked, then wide open. Ice-out usually falls in early May, and the weeks after it fish hardest. Average temperatures cross freezing around early May in spring and again near mid November in autumn. From the thaw to midsummer the fishing improves week by week. Plan around that when you fish Crosman Lake.
Nothing we hold confirms whether access is permitted. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Nothing is mapped in the way of a ramp or car park within a short radius. Keep the gear simple: light line, small hooks, split shot and a couple of proven lures. Some banks are open only from a marked point. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. Failing this one, try Bluff Lake, 1.4 km away. None of that is settled for Crosman Lake in what we hold.
