A sharp, clear morning turning into a bright day, with a consistent blow out of the NW and pressure going nowhere. Coronary Lake should fish best around the first drop-off and weed lines today. A hard day on paper; the night edges the rest. Scale down and fish slowly. Fish follow the bait in autumn, so find one to find the other.

Coronary Lake is a Kenora District water, Ontario side. This is pine and birch ground. The water covers some 99 hectares, so pick a bank rather than trying to cover it all. Some 5.9 km of bank gives room to move when the wind turns. Supplies mean a trip to Dryden, 42 km off. It is 310 km to Thunder Bay, the nearest city. The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
No depth figure has reached our records, which makes a plummet useful. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Survey and observation records for Kenora District include northern pike, longnose sucker and white sucker. Take it as the county picture rather than a promise for this water. On Coronary Lake a short move beats a long cast.
Typical July readings run about 18°C; by January the average is down near -18°C. Four clear seasons, with a proper winter at one end. Winter locks it down, and late April brings it back. The season between ice runs from about late April to mid November. From the thaw to midsummer the fishing improves week by week. That is the shape of the year on Coronary Lake.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Public mapping records no formal access here, so plan for a walk and soft ground. A wire trace and a big bright lure handle the pike; deep water asks for a heavier spoon. Check whether a boat is allowed before you tow one. Where parking is tight, arriving early solves most problems. Marion Lake sits 3.5 km off and takes the overflow. None of that is settled for Coronary Lake in what we hold.
