Cloud from horizon to horizon today, with a light SSW breeze with the glass holding level. The water to cover at Centre Lake is shallow cover and weed edges. The day holds up well from night into morning. Work the productive water thoroughly. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Centre Lake stands in United Counties of Leeds and Grenville, Ontario. It lies 104 metres above sea level. The water covers around 2.34 sq km, which puts most of it out of reach from the bank. At about 10 km of edge, most people work one arm at a time. Start from Brockville, 13 km down the road. Prescott follows at 30 km, then Alexandria Bay at 30 km. The nearest edge is a long way off, so local rules apply throughout.
Depth went unrecorded, which puts the reading back on you. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. Open biodiversity records for United Counties of Leeds and Grenville list pumpkinseed, bluegill, yellow perch and rock bass. Species recorded across the county may be limited to a few waters. Work Centre Lake in sections rather than trying to cover it.
Averages here run 20°C at the top of summer and -9°C at the bottom of winter. The year splits cleanly: hard water, then open water. Expect a solid lid for months and a thaw around mid April. Expect the water usable from around mid April until roughly early December. Just after the ice goes and just before it returns, the fishing lifts. Centre Lake fishes to that pattern most years.
Whether you may fish here is not something records settle. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. There is no recorded infrastructure here; expect to find your own way in. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Rules differ from one water to the next round here. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. For a change of water, Temperance Lake is 2.5 km distant. What applies at Centre Lake may have changed since it was mapped.
