Heavy overcast holding through the day, with a firm W blow and no real change in pressure. Expect most activity at Centre Lake around the weed line and any gaps in it. A tough forecast; the evening offers the only real chance. Save the long walk for a better forecast. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Look for Centre Lake in the Sudbury part of Ontario. The bank gives way to northern bush. It measures about 30 hectares, which is a comfortable size for bank fishing. Around 3.7 km of margin, front to back. 46 km away sits Chapleau, the nearest town. Further out sit Wawa (89 km) and Hornepayne (138 km). The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
Depth is not on record here, so the bank has to tell you. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Fish documented in Sudbury include smallmouth bass, northern pike, yellow perch and Iowa darter. Read it as a county summary, not a water-by-water list. On Centre Lake that means starting tight and working out.
Average temperature peaks around 17°C in July and bottoms out near -16°C in January. The season is measured in weeks rather than months. Hard water holds through the cold months, breaking up near early May. In an average year the thaw lands around early May and the freeze near mid November. Fish feed hardest at the start and the close of the open season. Centre Lake runs to that rhythm year in and year out.
The access position is unclear from public sources. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Mapping shows no built access close by; expect to walk in from wherever you can leave the car. Where access is informal, keep it that way by behaving. Keep proof of licence with you rather than in the car. If the gate is shut, Little Missinaibi Lake at 2.4 km is the nearest alternative. Treat Centre Lake as unsettled until someone local tells you otherwise.
