Showers crossing the water today, with flat calm through the day and no real change in pressure. Most of the action on Camel Lake should come off structure within a cast of the bank. Expect the better fishing from morning through afternoon. Give the likely spots time before moving. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

Camel Lake lies in Sudbury, Ontario. It sits in pine and birch country. The water covers some 61 hectares, so pick a bank rather than trying to cover it all. With 8.0 km or so of shoreline, boat anglers cover ground the bank cannot. It sits higher than most water we list in Ontario. Chapleau lies 75 km from the water. Greater Sudbury is the closest city, 237 km away. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
Depth is unmeasured here, so let the shoreline guide you. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Records held for Sudbury cover smallmouth bass, northern pike, yellow perch and Iowa darter. It is the county picture; the agency list is water-specific. On Camel Lake a short move beats a long cast.
Average temperature peaks around 17°C in July and bottoms out near -14°C in January. Seasons are distinct, and each one fishes differently. The lid usually sets by midwinter and gives way around late April. Average temperatures cross freezing around late April in spring and again near mid November in autumn. Fishing peaks soon after break-up and again before the cold returns. Expect Camel Lake to follow that timing.
The access position is unclear from public sources. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. No built facilities appear in mapping around this water. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Read any posted signs at the access point rather than assuming. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. Bliss Lake at 1.9 km is the sensible second choice. What applies at Camel Lake may have changed since it was mapped.
