Cloud from horizon to horizon today, with the water lying quiet with the glass holding level. The water to cover at Camden Lake is the shallows early and the drop later. One clear peak today: the night. Work fewer spots, but work them properly. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Set in Lennox and Addington County, Camden Lake is an Ontario water. Country round the bank runs to lake country bush. At 6.56 sq km this is proper open water rather than a pond. The outline measures near 36 km, so a boat opens up water the bank never reaches. Few waters listed in Lennox and Addington County are bigger. Supplies mean a trip to Skatepark, 20 km off. Greater Napanee is 20 km away, with Napanee at 20 km. Being near a boundary, it pays to know which side you are fishing.
No depth figure appears in our records, so the bank has to tell you. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Public occurrence data for Lennox and Addington County names pumpkinseed, rock bass, smallmouth bass and bluegill. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. The shape of Camden Lake decides where the fish sit.
Averages here run 20°C at the top of summer and -9°C at the bottom of winter. Expect a real winter and a strong spring after it. Firm cover through the cold months, then open water from mid April. The open-water window runs from around mid April to about early December in an average year. The open run goes from the thaw to the freeze, and April through October covers most of it. Plan around that when you fish Camden Lake.
Our records carry no access rule either way. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. No made access appears within a short radius, so plan to park on a verge and walk. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Read any posted signs at the access point rather than assuming. Where parking is tight, arriving early solves most problems. Varty Lake, 4.9 km away, makes the obvious fallback. For Camden Lake, the notice at the access point is the final word.
