Low, flat cloud sitting over the water, with steady pressure of wind from the WSW and no real change in pressure. Give inflow corners and shaded margins the first hour at Brule Lake. Expectations low today; if anything moves, it will be in the morning. Fish the best hour hard and keep the rest short.

Brule Lake belongs to Nipissing District, Ontario. Around the bank it is pine and birch. This is sizeable water at about 1.23 sq km, and a boat opens up most of it. Shoreline length is close to 7.5 km, and each section fishes a little differently. Size puts it in the front rank of our Nipissing District list. Head to Témiscaming, 28 km away, for anything you forgot. North Bay is 33 km away, with Notre-Dame-du-Lac at 33 km. No county line comes close, which keeps the paperwork simple.
No depth figure has reached our records, which makes a plummet useful. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Fish documented in Nipissing District include smallmouth bass, cisco, yellow perch and pumpkinseed. County data is a starting point rather than a guarantee. Work Brule Lake in sections rather than trying to cover it.
On the long-term average, July reads 18°C and January reads -14°C. Cold winters and warm summers give a wide working range. Winter locks it down, and late April brings it back. Going by climate averages, expect open water from about late April until roughly late November. From the thaw to midsummer the fishing improves week by week. Brule Lake runs to its own calendar within the local pattern.
The access position is unclear from public sources. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Public mapping records no formal access here, so plan for a walk and soft ground. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Look for a notice board at the entrance. Access can change hands, so last year's answer may not hold. Failing this one, try Moose Lake, 3.1 km away. Check the current arrangement for Brule Lake.
