A rainy spell sitting over the area, with a whisper of wind from the W and no real change in pressure. Activity on Bremner Lake should centre on the shallows early and the drop later. The best of it runs the day. Push the good hours hard and rest through the dead ones. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Bremner Lake sits within Algoma in Ontario. The bank is 312 metres above sea level. At about 23 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. A shoreline of some 3.6 km keeps the choices simple. Wawa is the closest place, 15 km off. It is 323 km to Greater Sudbury, the nearest city. Within a short run: Elbow Lake 2.2 km, Twin Lakes about 2.8 km, Vanreek Lake 2.9 km, Hawk Lake about 3.1 km and Holdsworth Lake 3.7 km. No border sits close enough to matter.
Nothing we hold settles how deep this runs. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Algoma records list walleye, northern pike and Iowa darter among the fish reported. It is the county picture; the agency list is water-specific. The near bank of Bremner Lake is often the one people ignore.
The seasonal spread runs -15°C to 16°C. Ice holds for a long stretch, so the open weeks matter more here than further south. Winter locks it down, and late April brings it back. Open water usually runs from late April until about mid November. Late spring and early autumn carry the year between them. That is the shape of the year on Bremner Lake.
Nothing on record says whether the bank is open or closed. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Access is unmapped, which usually means a farm track and a walk. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Provincial rules still apply whatever the bank status. Where the way in crosses private ground, ask first. If the gate is shut, Elbow Lake at 2.2 km is the nearest alternative. Check the position at Bremner Lake before loading the car.
