Cloud from horizon to horizon today, with just enough S wind to ripple the surface with a settled glass. Start the search at Blind Lake along the margins and the shelf beyond them. The useful hours run night into morning. Stay patient; middling days often turn late. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Look for Blind Lake in Peterborough County, Ontario. The country here is mixed forest. This is a pocket water of some 9 hectares, and every part of it is reachable from the bank. On size it sits at the modest end of our Peterborough County list. Marmora is the closest place, 24 km off. Norwood is 26 km and Lakefield 33 km. The boundary is close enough to be worth checking before you fish.
Without a survey to go on, judge depth from how the bank falls away. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. County-wide records name rock bass, pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, muskellunge and bluegill. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. Read Blind Lake for ten minutes before the first cast goes out.
Expect July to average close to 19°C, with January the cold end at about -10°C. Winter puts a hard lid on this one. Hard cover is dependable here; it goes around mid April. On the long-run averages the water opens up around mid April and starts locking again about early December. The shoulder weeks of the open season are the productive ones. Blind Lake runs to its own calendar within the local pattern.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. No made access is recorded, so a short walk in is the likely arrangement. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Parking is often the real limit rather than the bank itself. Barbless rules turn up on managed water more often than not. Oak Lake, 2.1 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Nothing on Blind Lake should be assumed from this page alone.
