Moonlight in and out behind the cloud tonight, with a kind NW breeze on the water and steady pressure. Activity on Biznar Lake should centre on the shaded margin through bright spells. If you pick one session, make it the evening. Cover water early, then settle where the signs are. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

Biznar Lake is a Kenora District water, Ontario side. Height above sea level is 420 metres. At some 1.37 sq km it is far too large to cover on foot in a day. Shoreline length is close to 14 km, and each section fishes a little differently. Red Lake sits 170 km from here and is the nearest stop. It is 442 km to Winnipeg, the nearest city. No county line comes close, which keeps the paperwork simple.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Across Kenora District, recorded fish include northern pike, longnose sucker, white sucker and johnny darter. The list covers the county rather than this water alone, so treat it as a guide. Biznar Lake fishes better once you know its edges.
Temperature averages peak at 17°C in July and bottom out at -22°C in January. Winter runs most of the calendar, and everything worth doing happens in the gap. Winter locks it down, and early May brings it back. Ice usually gives way near early May, and forms again about early November. June through September is the settled part of the year, with the shoulders busier for fish. That is the shape of the year on Biznar Lake.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Nothing is listed nearby for parking or launching a boat. Pike mean a wire trace, no exceptions; big spoons and jerkbaits do the searching. Provincial rules still apply whatever the bank status. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. Acker Lake at 14 km is the sensible second choice. Treat Biznar Lake as unsettled until someone local tells you otherwise.
