A crisp, open sky after dark, with a faint WNW drift with the barometer flat. Expect most activity at Beadle Lake around reed fringes and open pockets. The day fishes best from the day. Fish confidently and change only when the bites stop. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

In Ontario, Beadle Lake falls inside Rainy River District. The country round it is lake country bush from end to end. Roughly 1.87 sq km of surface: treat each bay as a water in its own right. Shoreline length is close to 21 km, and each section fishes a little differently. The nearest town is Emo, 34 km away. After that come Fort Frances at 49 km and International Falls at 50 km. Rules here are straightforward: one set of provincial rules.
Our records carry no depth, so judge it from the bank. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. County-wide records name northern pike, smallmouth bass and yellow perch. Read it as a county summary, not a water-by-water list. Beadle Lake gives up more to patience than to distance.
Expect July to average close to 19°C, with January the cold end at about -17°C. Spring and autumn carry the fishing; summer and winter test it. The lid usually sets by midwinter and gives way around late April. The open-water window runs from around late April to about mid November in an average year. The strong weeks are the first after break-up and the last before the freeze. Plan any trip to Beadle Lake around it.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. There is no mapped parking or launch close by, which usually means walking in. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. A landowner's word beats anything printed elsewhere. Keep proof of licence with you rather than in the car. The nearest alternative is Preachers Lake, 2.1 km out. Check the position at Beadle Lake before loading the car.
