Clear air and long views across the water tonight, with a working WSW breeze with the glass holding level. Most of the action on Barton Lake should come off inflow corners and shaded margins. Numbers are low everywhere; the morning is the pick of them. Go lighter and slower than usual. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

You will find Barton Lake in Parry Sound District, Ontario. It lies 221 metres above sea level. The water covers some 44 hectares, so pick a bank rather than trying to cover it all. The whole outline is near 4.8 km, and most of it is walkable. It is low-lying compared with other Ontario water we list. Powassan is the closest place, 24 km off. Further out sit Callander (30 km) and South River (30 km). The county line is nowhere near, so one local authority covers the water.
No chart reached our records; the first cast is your sounding. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Species logged across Parry Sound District include smallmouth bass, pumpkinseed, yellow perch, northern pike and rock bass. Read it as a county summary, not a water-by-water list. Work Barton Lake in sections rather than trying to cover it.
Seasonal averages run from -12°C in January up to 18°C in July. Winter puts a hard lid on this one. Look for the thaw near late April; the fishing lifts straight after. Going by climate averages, expect open water from about late April until roughly early December. Right after break-up, and again as the nights sharpen, is when to go. Keep it in mind when planning a trip to Barton Lake.
Public data does not answer the access question here. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. No built facilities appear in mapping around this water. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Take the rules with you rather than trusting memory. Barbless rules turn up on managed water more often than not. Commanda Creek, 3.9 km away, makes the obvious fallback. None of that is settled for Barton Lake in what we hold.
