Cloud from horizon to horizon today, with flat calm through the day and pressure sitting still. Start the search at Arm Lake along the margins and the shelf beyond them. Little to get excited about, though the morning holds a sliver of promise. Fish the best hour hard and keep the rest short. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Look for Arm Lake in the Thunder Bay District part of Ontario. It sits at 321 metres above sea level. At about 79 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. The margin runs to about 5.7 km in total. For supplies, Longlac is 31 km out. Thunder Bay is the closest city, 258 km away. One jurisdiction covers this water end to end.
Nothing we hold settles how deep this runs. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Species logged across Thunder Bay District include cisco, blackfin cisco, rainbow smelt, bloater and shortjaw cisco. Read it as a county summary, not a water-by-water list. Read Arm Lake for ten minutes before the first cast goes out.
Expect July to average close to 16°C, with January the cold end at about -20°C. Winter owns most of the year at this latitude. The open season starts with the thaw, near enough early May. Ice usually gives way near early May, and forms again about mid November. The open run goes from the thaw to the freeze, and April through October covers most of it. Time your trip to Arm Lake by conditions rather than dates.
The access position is unclear from public sources. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Nothing in the way of made access shows up nearby: no ramp, no car park, no path. One rod, a handful of hooks and floats, and a few small lures are enough for this water. Some banks are open only from a marked point. Some ground is open by custom rather than by right, so tread carefully. If the gate is shut, Guise Lake at 2.7 km is the nearest alternative. Confirm before you fish Arm Lake.
