A still, cloudless night on the water, with a helpful ripple pushed from the SW and steady pressure. Give structure within a cast of the bank the first hour at Anderson Lake. Save your energy for the night. Work the productive water thoroughly. Fish follow the bait in autumn, so find one to find the other.

Night
The Timiskaming District end of Ontario holds Anderson Lake. It lies 288 metres above sea level. Roughly 11 hectares: a morning covers one end, an afternoon the other. The whole outline is near 2.7 km, and most of it is walkable. Supplies mean a trip to Ville-Marie, 15 km off. Beyond it, Haileybury at 22 km and Saint-Bruno-de-Guigues at 27 km. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
There is no recorded depth, so work from what you can see. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Public occurrence data for Timiskaming District names brook trout, northern pike, yellow perch, Iowa darter and walleye. The county list is broader than any single water. Work Anderson Lake in sections rather than trying to cover it.
Long-term averages put July at about 18°C and January near -16°C. The year runs cold to warm and back, with clear transitions. Firm cover through the cold months, then open water from late April. Averages suggest open water from about late April through to roughly late November. Fishing peaks soon after break-up and again before the cold returns. That is the shape of the year on Anderson Lake.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. No car park, ramp or path is recorded within easy reach of the shore. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Where access is informal, keep it that way by behaving. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. Pan Lake, 0.7 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Confirm before you fish Anderson Lake.
