Heavy overcast holding through the day, with mild air moving in from the NW and no real change in pressure. The productive water at Anderson Lake will be around the weed line and any gaps in it. The day peaks in the morning. Slow down and let the fish find the bait. Fish follow the bait in autumn, so find one to find the other.

Anderson Lake is a Sudbury water, Ontario side. Elevation runs to 218 metres. It measures some 1.02 sq km, and wind has room to build across it. You are looking at roughly 7.7 km of shoreline, with plenty of water between access points. On our Sudbury list it sits near the top for size. Head to Espanola, 4.7 km away, for anything you forgot. Little Current follows at 32 km, then Lively at 50 km. The nearest boundary is a fair way off.
No depth figure has reached our records, which makes a plummet useful. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. County-wide records name smallmouth bass, northern pike and yellow perch. Species recorded across the county may be limited to a few waters. Fish Anderson Lake to its features, not to its size.
In an average year July sits at 19°C and January at -12°C. The freeze arrives properly here and holds. Count the season from break-up, usually late April. On the long-run averages the water opens up around late April and starts locking again about early December. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. Expect Anderson Lake to follow that timing.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. No made access is recorded, so a short walk in is the likely arrangement. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Some banks are open only from a marked point. Night access is frequently treated as a separate matter. Spring Lake sits 1.5 km off and takes the overflow. Nothing on Anderson Lake should be assumed from this page alone.
