Flat light and a covered sky today, with a persistent wind from the NW with a settled glass. On Agimak Lake, work the shaded margin through bright spells first. A slow day overall; the night is the best of a quiet lot. Scale down and fish slowly. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

In Ontario, Agimak Lake belongs to Kenora District. The water sits 451 metres up. Around 13.29 sq km of open water: conditions change from one end to the other. On our Kenora District list it sits near the top for size. You are 3.5 km from Ignace. After that come Atikokan at 70 km and Sioux Lookout at 78 km. The nearest boundary is a fair way off.
We hold no depth figure for this one. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Across Kenora District, recorded fish include northern pike, longnose sucker, white sucker and johnny darter. Records at this level tell you what is in the area. Fish Agimak Lake to its features, not to its size.
Climate records put July near 18°C and January near -18°C. Hard water is a season in its own right here. Once it clears, about late April, the fishing comes on quickly. Ice clears near late April and comes back about mid November in a typical year. The middle of summer slows a little, with dawn and dusk carrying it. Anyone fishing Agimak Lake regularly works to that calendar.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. No car park, ramp or path is recorded within easy reach of the shore. Pike mean a wire trace, no exceptions; big spoons and jerkbaits do the searching. Ask in the nearest town if you are unsure. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. Lilypad Lake, 2.2 km away, makes the obvious fallback. None of that is settled for Agimak Lake in what we hold.
