Heavy overcast holding through the day, with light air out of the SE and the barometer holding steady. Expect most activity at Wamboldt Lake around bays that hold the day's warmth. Bank on the evening and treat the rest as bonus. Push the good hours hard and rest through the dead ones. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

Wamboldt Lake is one of the Annapolis County listings for Nova Scotia. What surrounds it is lake country bush. Small at around 5 hectares: two anglers spread out cover most of it. It is a small entry by Annapolis County standards. Middleton lies 10 km from the water. Then Greenwood, 16 km, and Kingston, 18 km. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
Without a survey to go on, judge depth from how the bank falls away. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Annapolis County records list alewife, Atlantic salmon and chain pickerel among the fish reported. Some of the species recorded here are protected or tightly regulated, so check what may be targeted before you fish. Wamboldt Lake fishes better once you know its edges.
Averages move between -6°C in January and 18°C in July. The year splits cleanly: hard water, then open water. Hard cover is dependable here; it goes around mid April. Expect the water usable from around mid April until roughly mid December. September and October fish steadily right up to the freeze. Wamboldt Lake runs to its own calendar within the local pattern.
Our records carry no access rule either way. Nothing built is recorded close to the bank here. Pike mean a wire trace, no exceptions; big spoons and jerkbaits do the searching. Take the rules with you rather than trusting memory. Where the way in crosses private ground, ask first. Cedar Lake at 1.8 km is the sensible second choice. Where Wamboldt Lake is concerned, a local answer beats a written one.
