Steady rain over the water today, with a helpful ripple pushed from the ESE and pressure sitting still. Most of the action on Labrador Lake should come off the shaded margin through bright spells. Block out the hours from night into morning. Slow down and let the fish find the bait.

Labrador Lake falls in Lunenburg County, part of Nova Scotia. The surface lies 20 metres up. The water covers some 10 hectares, so pick a bank rather than trying to cover it all. With about 1.7 km of edge, you can try several depths in one session. By elevation it sits in the lower part of our Nova Scotia listings. The nearest place of any size is Chester, 7.9 km away. Mahone Bay lies 23 km off, Lunenburg another 27 km. A border sits close enough to be relevant to the paperwork.
No figure exists for depth, so let the water show you. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Open biodiversity records for Lunenburg County list American eel, Atlantic whitefish, smallmouth bass, striped bass and coalfish. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. Labrador Lake responds to conditions more than to tactics.
Expect August to average close to 18°C, with January the cold end at about -5°C. Winter closes the water for a while, and the reopening is worth catching. After mid April the shallows warm and the fish move up. The open-water window runs from around mid April to about mid December in an average year. Spring is short and heavy here; autumn is longer and steadier. Expect Labrador Lake to follow that timing.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. A picnic area is mapped about 380 m away. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Where access is informal, keep it that way by behaving. Some water is controlled locally without a sign saying so. Goat Lake sits 3 km off and takes the overflow. Where Labrador Lake is concerned, a local answer beats a written one.
