Dalem Lake in Cape Breton County: How and When to Fish It

• Overview

  Dalem Lake is one of the Cape Breton County waters in Nova Scotia. The country round it is rolling bush from end to end. Surface area is around 31 hectares, which gives you real water without needing a boat. The bank runs about 2.0 km all the way round, so one visit can cover most of it. Florence lies 13 km from the water. North Sydney lies 14 km off, Sydney Mines another 16 km. Rules can differ a short way off, since the county line is near.

• Where to Fish on Dalem Lake

  Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work.
