Dull, settled light over the water, with just enough SE wind to ripple the surface with a settled glass. Beauregard Lake should fish best around the first drop-off and weed lines today. The productive run goes the day. Start on the obvious water and expand from there. A cold snap day, so work the warmest water you can find.

You will find Beauregard Lake in North Slave Region, Northwest Territories. Beyond the shoreline you have open dry country. At some 1.48 sq km it is far too large to cover on foot in a day. The edge covers about 8.7 km, enough to hold several distinct areas. Most waters listed here for North Slave Region are larger. Head to Yellowknife, 30 km away, for anything you forgot. The big place round here is Edmonton, 1021 km distant. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
We hold no depth figure for this one. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Fish documented in North Slave Region include Arctic grayling, lake trout and slimy sculpin. It is the county picture; the agency list is water-specific. Read Beauregard Lake for ten minutes before the first cast goes out.
The year swings from about -27°C in January to roughly 16°C in July. The season is measured in weeks rather than months. The open season starts with the thaw, near enough late May. From about late May to around late October, expect open water on the long-run figures. The strongest runs come at either end of the open season. The season on Beauregard Lake follows the weather closely.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Nothing in the way of made access shows up nearby: no ramp, no car park, no path. Trout here take small spinners, spoons and, where fly water allows, a nymph or dry. Take the rules with you rather than trusting memory. Signs go up and come down, so check on the day. For a change of water, Greyling Lake is 4.8 km distant. Ask locally about Beauregard Lake if anything is unclear.
