Rain on and off through the day, with a light chop building from the S with the glass holding level. On Mill Lake, work any hard bottom among the soft first. Expect the better fishing from night into morning. Work fewer spots, but work them properly. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

New Brunswick holds Mill Lake, in Charlotte County. The coast is 10 km away. Roughly 1.97 sq km of surface: treat each bay as a water in its own right. The margin runs to about 8.5 km in total. On our Charlotte County list it sits near the top for size. Nearest place of any size is St. George, 10 km away. Further out sit Eastern Charlotte (12 km) and Pennfield (12 km). One jurisdiction covers this water end to end.
Depth figures are not published for this one. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Charlotte County records list Atlantic salmon, alewife, rainbow smelt and American eel among the fish reported. Some of the species recorded here are protected or tightly regulated, so check what may be targeted before you fish. At Mill Lake the first feature you find is worth twenty minutes.
Temperature averages peak at 18°C in July and bottom out at -8°C in January. A solid cap is the normal state through winter. Ice fishing carries the winter, and the water opens about mid April. Averages place the thaw at mid April and the freeze at mid December. The first weeks of open water and the last are the ones to plan for. That is the shape of the year on Mill Lake.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. No built facilities appear in mapping around this water. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Rules differ from one water to the next round here. Where the way in crosses private ground, ask first. For a change of water, Long Lake is 2 km distant. None of that is settled for Mill Lake in what we hold.
