Flat light and a covered sky today, with a whisper of wind from the WNW with the barometer flat. Lily Lake should fish best around the first drop-off and weed lines today. The forecast is against you; the night is the least bad option. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

You will find Lily Lake in Charlotte County, New Brunswick. It lies 100 metres above sea level. Around 50 hectares of surface means several distinct areas to work. Bank access stretches around 3.4 km in total. It is among the larger waters listed here for Charlotte County. Nearest place of any size is St. George, 8.2 km away. Dartmouth is the closest city, 268 km away. The nearest edge is a long way off, so local rules apply throughout.
Depth here is unknown, so count the lead down before committing. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. County-wide records name Atlantic salmon, coalfish, alewife and Atlantic cod. Several of these carry legal protection or closed seasons; the rulebook comes before the rod. Anyone new to Lily Lake should walk it once before setting up.
The range across the year is -8°C to 18°C. Spring and autumn carry the fishing; summer and winter test it. Once it clears, about mid April, the fishing comes on quickly. On average, mid April opens the water and early December closes it again. The first weeks of open water and the last are the ones to plan for. At Lily Lake the season follows that pattern closely.
Our records carry no access rule either way. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Nothing built is recorded close to the bank here. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Look for a notice board at the entrance. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. For a change of water, Mud Lake is 1.2 km distant. Nothing on Lily Lake should be assumed from this page alone.
