No direct sun expected today, with a whisper of wind from the NW and pressure going nowhere. Expect most activity at King Brook Lake around sheltered bays and points. A tough forecast; the night offers the only real chance. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

Look for King Brook Lake in Charlotte County, New Brunswick. Land around it is pine and birch. With some 35 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. The whole outline is near 2.5 km, and most of it is walkable. St. Stephen sits 19 km from the bank. After that come Calais at 20 km and McAdam at 30 km. Local rules may differ a few miles either side of here.
Depth is not on record here, so the bank has to tell you. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Species logged across Charlotte County include Atlantic salmon, alewife and rainbow smelt. Some of the species recorded here are protected or tightly regulated, so check what may be targeted before you fish. The near bank of King Brook Lake is often the one people ignore.
Expect July to average close to 19°C, with January the cold end at about -9°C. The year runs cold to warm and back, with clear transitions. Winter fishing happens on the ice here, with open water back around mid April. On average, mid April opens the water and early December closes it again. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. Time your trip to King Brook Lake by conditions rather than dates.
The access position is unclear from public sources. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. No car park, ramp or path is recorded within easy reach of the shore. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Local rules can differ across the county line, so check where you stand. Access can change hands, so last year's answer may not hold. Blackwater Lake sits 0.6 km off and takes the overflow. None of that is settled for King Brook Lake in what we hold.
