Dull, settled light over the water, with light air out of the NW and no real change in pressure. Gibson Lake should fish best around any hard bottom among the soft today. A stay-home graph, with the night as the one excuse to go. Save the long walk for a better forecast. The season of moving fish: stay mobile and watch for bait.

Gibson Lake stands in Charlotte County, New Brunswick. The surface lies 38 metres up. Roughly 23 hectares: a morning covers one end, an afternoon the other. There is roughly 2.4 km of shoreline here, which is a short walk end to end. The nearest place of any size is Saint Andrews, 11 km away. The big place round here is Dartmouth, 282 km distant. The county edge is within a short distance of the bank.
No depth figure has reached our records, which makes a plummet useful. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Reported across Charlotte County: Atlantic salmon, alewife, rainbow smelt, American eel and smallmouth bass. Several of these carry legal protection or closed seasons; the rulebook comes before the rod. Read Gibson Lake for ten minutes before the first cast goes out.
Expect July to average close to 19°C, with January the cold end at about -8°C. Expect a real winter and a strong spring after it. Once it clears, about mid April, the fishing comes on quickly. Climate figures give an open season running mid April to mid December. Right after break-up, and again as the nights sharpen, is when to go. At Gibson Lake the season follows that pattern closely.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. No slipway, car park or made path shows up nearby in mapping, so treat access as rough. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Look for a notice board at the entrance. Signs go up and come down, so check on the day. Should this one be busy, Snowshoe Lake is 0.9 km off. None of that is settled for Gibson Lake in what we hold.
