Not a cloud worth mentioning today, with almost no wind to speak of with the glass holding level. The productive water at Lime Kiln Lake will be around points where shallow meets deep. The day fishes best from night into morning. Fish confidently and change only when the bites stop. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Lime Kiln Lake lies in Pincher Creek, in Alberta. The bank is 1,348 metres above sea level. This is a pocket water of some 8 hectares, and every part of it is reachable from the bank. Pincher Creek is the closest town at 7.6 km. It is 90 km to Lethbridge, the nearest city. The county line is nowhere near, so one local authority covers the water.
The records we hold are silent on depth, so plan to find it yourself. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. The shape of Lime Kiln Lake rewards a slow walk along one bank. Any change in depth is worth more than any change in bait.
Between January at about -7°C and August at about 16°C, the water has a wide range to work through. A full turn of seasons, with the strongest sport on either side of summer. Winter fishing happens on the ice here, with open water back around mid April. The water is typically free of ice between mid April and late November. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. Lime Kiln Lake runs to that rhythm year in and year out.
The access position is unclear from public sources. Nothing in the way of made access shows up nearby: no ramp, no car park, no path. Read any posted signs at the access point rather than assuming. Keep proof of licence with you rather than in the car. For a change of water, Daigle Lake is 4.1 km distant. Nothing on Lime Kiln Lake should be assumed from this page alone.
