Hidden Lake lies within the bounds of Peace River Regional District, British Columbia. The bank is 866 metres above sea level. About 7 hectares of surface, which puts the far bank inside easy sight. Our Peace River Regional District list holds plenty of bigger water. Start from Fort St. John, 146 km down the road. After that come Taylor at 153 km and Manning at 155 km. This one is safely inside the county line.
Our records carry no depth, so judge it from the bank. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. County-wide records name mountain whitefish, longnose sucker, largescale sucker and Arctic grayling. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. The near bank of Hidden Lake is often the one people ignore.
Long-term averages put July at about 14°C and January near -18°C. Everything is compressed into the middle of the year. Hard cover is dependable here; it goes around early May. Expect the water usable from around early May until roughly early November. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. On Hidden Lake the same rules apply, with local timing.
The paperwork position is blank for this one. Nothing is listed nearby for parking or launching a boat. Trout here take small spinners, spoons and, where fly water allows, a nymph or dry. Gates get locked out of season on water like this. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. Sock Lake, 13 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Rules at Hidden Lake are worth checking on the day.
