Overcast skies today, with stillness over the whole water and pressure sitting still. Expect most activity at Beryl Lake around any hard bottom among the soft. Plan around the stretch from the day. Keep moving until you find them. A properly cold day, so expect slow, deliberate fishing.

Beryl Lake sits in Jasper, out in Alberta. The ground round it is rolling bush. With some 22 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. The edge runs 2.4 km or so, easy to work in an afternoon. It is high ground by Alberta standards. Jasper lies 26 km from the water. The big place round here is Kamloops, 267 km distant. No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
Depth is not on record here, so the bank has to tell you. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. Jasper records list rainbow trout, longnose sucker and brook trout among the fish reported. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. Fish Beryl Lake to its features, not to its size.
Between December at about -12°C and August at about 9°C, the water has a wide range to work through. Fishing here follows the temperature more than the calendar. After late May the shallows warm and the fish move up. Break-up sits around late May on average, with the water closing again about late October. Look to early summer and the first cool weeks of autumn. The season on Beryl Lake rarely departs from it.
The access position is unclear from public sources. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. There is no recorded infrastructure here; expect to find your own way in. Trout here take small spinners, spoons and, where fly water allows, a nymph or dry. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Access can change hands, so last year's answer may not hold. Buttress Lake at 1.7 km is the sensible second choice. Nothing here settles the position at Beryl Lake for certain.
