Open sky and sharp air tonight, with a busy ESE wind on the open water and pressure on the rise. Give channel edges and moving water the first hour at Torbay Inlet. The day holds up well from the day. Work the productive water thoroughly. Spring rewards the bank that catches the sun.

Western Australia holds Torbay Inlet, in Albany. It sits 1.8 km in from the sea. With some 77 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. Roughly 4.0 km of bank means you can walk to a fresh area when one goes quiet. It lies lower than most water we list in Western Australia. Start from Grasmere, 7.4 km down the road. McKail lies 15 km off, Lockyer another 17 km. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
We hold no depth figure for this one. Work the tide here — moving water feeds, slack water rests. Salt and fresh mix here, and the mixing line is worth finding. Tide runs this water, so time the session to the flow. Open occurrence data for the surrounding area lists greenback horse mackerel, Murray cod, South Australian roughy, western pygmy perch and nightfish. Several of these carry legal protection or closed seasons; the rulebook comes before the rod. On Torbay Inlet the first feature you find is usually worth a session.
Typical February readings run about 20°C; by July the average is down near 12°C. Warm months push fish deep; cool months bring them back. The shoulder seasons either side of summer are the ones to aim for. Spring, September into November, fishes hardest, with autumn a close second. Time your trip to Torbay Inlet by conditions rather than dates.
Our records carry no access rule either way. Parking is not close: 840 m from the bank, and no nearer option is mapped. Mapping shows a campsite some 900 m from the water. Toilets show in mapping about 900 m away. Perch take small lures and worms fished near the bottom close to structure. Where the road in crosses private land, ask first. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. Should this one be busy, Lake Powell is 6 km off. The position on Torbay Inlet is worth confirming on the day.
