Open sky and sharp air tonight, with a consistent blow out of the ESE with a settled glass. Whatever swims in Beaufort Inlet should be near drains and drop-offs on the tide. Block out the hours from the day. Cover water early, then settle where the signs are. The spring warm-up puts fish on the sunny banks.

Beaufort Inlet lies in Jerramungup, in Western Australia. It sits in oak and grass country. It measures some 4.36 sq km, and wind has room to build across it. The perimeter is close to 29 km, and wind can be flat in one arm and rough in the next. For a base, Lower King sits 103 km out. Beyond it, Bayonet Head at 104 km and Spencer Park at 109 km. Rules here are straightforward: one set of state rules.
There is no recorded depth, so work from what you can see. The tide is the timetable on this water; two hours either side of the change usually fish hardest. Reed and marsh margins hold fish through the moving hours. Flats either side fish on the drop as bait is pushed off them. Nearby survey and observation records mention black bream, flathead grey mullet, King flathead and King George whiting. Reported species tell you what lives around here, nothing more. Read Beaufort Inlet for ten minutes before the first cast goes out.
February is the warm end of the year here, averaging about 20°C, while July sits near 12°C. The year never really closes; it just gets uncomfortable in summer. Summer, December to February, brings heat, so fish the early and late hours. March through May and September through November are the strong stretches. Beaufort Inlet runs to that rhythm year in and year out.
No public source sets out the position on this bank. A campsite is mapped about 1.2 km away, which makes an early start easier. Carp respond to sweetcorn or boilies fished patiently on the bottom near feeding areas. A landowner's word beats anything printed elsewhere. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. Swan Lake sits 49 km off and takes the overflow. Confirm before you fish Beaufort Inlet.
