Clear overhead with good moonlight, with an easy breeze from the SE with the barometer flat. Expect most activity at Tullaroop Reservoir around points and the old channel edges. The forecast backs the stretch from the day. Ride the conditions while they last. Spring water is still waking up, so the shallows warm first.

Tullaroop Reservoir lies within the bounds of Central Goldfields, Victoria. Beyond the shoreline you have dry hill. Roughly 5.76 sq km of surface: treat each bay as a water in its own right. You are looking at roughly 20 km of shoreline, with plenty of water between access points. Nearest place of any size is Carisbrook, 8 km away. Then Maryborough, 13 km, and Clunes, 22 km. Local rules may differ a few miles either side of here.
Depth went unrecorded, which puts the reading back on you. Points where the flooded channel swings in are the reliable ones. Held water runs deepest at the wall and shallows back to the inflow. Species logged nearby in open biodiversity records include perch, brown trout, tench and goldfish. Several of these carry legal protection or closed seasons; the rulebook comes before the rod. On Tullaroop Reservoir the obvious spot is not always the productive one.
Long-run averages give February about 20°C and July about 8°C. The hard part of the year is the heat, not the cold. Levels swing with the wet season, which moves the fishing about. March through May and September through November are the strong stretches. Tullaroop Reservoir fishes to that pattern most years.
No access rule appears in what we hold. Nothing is listed nearby for parking or launching a boat. Light line and small metal for the trout; a fly rod earns its place on calm evenings. Read any posted signs at the access point rather than assuming. Some water is controlled locally without a sign saying so. The nearest alternative is Cairn Curran Reservoir, 13 km out. None of that is settled for Tullaroop Reservoir in what we hold.
